Direct Unai (MG) - Rider Carlos Ambrósio left Sertões International Rally this Thursday (12) after an accident in the stage between Caldas Novas (GO) and Unai (MG). With the impact against a fence, Ambrósio broke his collarbone.
The rider was rescued by the organization's medical helicopter and transferred to a hospital, he is doing well. "He was examined by the medical team that was nearby, which contacted the helicopter. He was immobilized and taken to Unai, then to the city hospital, and actually confirmed that he had a broken collarbone," said Dr. Claudio Birolini, who assisted the rider.
In Sertões International Rally last year, Ambrósio also fell and broke his collarbone. "He broke the same collarbone. He had to put a plate there last year, which was crooked", explained the doctor. "He also fractured a rib, and apparently a minor injury in the lung."
The rider will return home yet tonight.
